November 2017

The 2017 Grain Harvest, and work for us, officially started. Good finishing rains in August and September meant that what was going to be a less than good harvest has turned into a reasonable one, and that is good for the farmers and good for us. As a result the commencement of the harvest has been late and will probably go into January.

After having worked just one week since the end of last years harvest it has been interesting getting back into the swing of early mornings and 12 hour working days in the hot, windy and dusty conditions over the last week or so, but we have managed and are slowly getting work fit again. A few drinks on the verandah at the end of the day watching the sun go down followed by a nice shower, meal and bed have meant routine is in full swing, the days are passing by quicker than a Japanese Bullet Train, all blending into each other in a blur as the bank balance begins to fill up once more.
